Under Control 2051

Dense smoke was already rolling from this large, 1.5 brick dwelling and storage building, part of a car dealership, when R225 pulled up. They went in with a line and discovered a well-advanced fire in the centre and rear areas, with conditions deteriorating rapidly. C21 pulled them out and went with large lines through the windows while setting up A222 &226 for ladder pipes. These were put to use when the roof went in and ground crews concentrated on preventing extension to a 1fr garage attached at the rear. Meanwhile, numerous propane tanks were removed from harm’s way. Large amounts of combustibles inside made for a long night and A322 added their master stream to the fight, as well. After 3 hours, the blaze was controlled but overhaul continued throughout the night. The cause of the $150,000 job is still under investigation by the OFM. Report © GTMAA Tumpet
